1) Start the engine and allow it to warm up to normal operating temperature.
2) With the engine idling, turn the pilot screw in or out to the setting that produces the highest idle rpm.
The correct setting will usually be obtained at approximately the following number of turns out from the fully closed (lightly seated) position.
Refer to P. 6-4 for identification of the carburetor vent type.
3) After the pilot screw is correctly adjusted, turn the throttle stop screw to obtain the standard idle speed.
